Ligna 2025: Kallfass ist dabei! EN LIGNA 2025: KALLFASS is part of it!

In Hall 25 / Booth D 66 at LIGNA, Kallfass will be showingcasing a multiple cross-cut saw for unedged goods and demonstrating live the handling of stacking sticks using a robot.

From 26 - 30 May 2025, the entire woodworking community will gather in Hanover, Germany. More than 1,200 exhibitors from all over the world will be represented, occupying approx. 112,000 m² of exhibition space. As an automation professional and system manufacturer, Kallfass will be showcasing its products on its 126 m² booth.

Plenty to see at the exhibition stand

On display will be a multiple cross-cut saw for unedged goods with four saw aggregats; three of which can be individually positioned.

Whether boards, panels, squared timber or round bars, the Kallfass multiple cross-cut saw cuts raw or planed workpieces—individually or in layers—to the required lengths with millimetre precision, even with a mitre cut if required. The saw works with a high cutting accuracy of only ±1 mm tolerance. The saw aggregats, which can be individually positioned, are automatically aligned to the new cutting pattern in the shortest possible time. The multiple cross-cut saw is a Kallfass classic.

In a live demonstration at the trade fair booth, Kallfass will show how a robot can handle wooden sticks fully automatically.

When stacking wood packs with automatic stick placement, several stick magazines must be constantly loaded with stacking sticks. When using double magazines, even with two different stick dimensions. This very time-consuming filling of the magazines can be carried out by a robot, at a constant output and high cycle rate. If required, a second robot even cycles the sticks into the buffer conveyor beforehand. A high-performance solution for state-of-the-art, fully automated production of sawn timber.

50 years of Kallfass at LIGNA

The first LIGNA trade fair was held in Hanover, Germany, in 1975 and Kallfass was an exhibitor right from the start. Hannover Messe used the 50th anniversary of the trade fair as an opportunity to launch a series of interviews entitled “LIGNA Story”. Companies that are also celebrating a LIGNA anniversary this year were surveyed. Company owner Ernst Kallfass answers questions in the Kallfass Story.

Kallfass auf Ligna

A stacker was exhibited at LIGNA in the 1970s. Kallfass was one of the pioneers in the stacking of sawn timber.

At LIGNA, Kallfass will also be introducing its new regional representative in the Netherlands. With Herwin Horstman from ESTUFA B.V., Kallfass has gained a competent sales partner who knows the wood processing market in Holland very well and can support local companies in their native language.
