For 76 years, Kallfass has been active in the field of mechanical and plant engineering for the woodworking industry. Ernst Kallfass played a key role in this success story for 50 of those years. Thanks to his tireless dedication, this traditional Black Forest company is now recognized worldwide as a brand synonymous with quality.
At the age of 24, Ernst Kallfass joined his parents' company in 1975. The company had been founded in 1949 by Ernst and Frida Kallfass as a repair and craft business in Klosterreichenbach. Ernst Kallfass was appointed managing director in 1984. His wife, Ursula Kallfass, has also been working in the company since 1981 and continues to handle payroll accounting.
Ernst and Ursula Kallfass
Ernst Kallfass recognized the potential of the wood processing industry and tirelessly developed new customer groups. He created the first ever stacking system for sawn timber and introduced it, along with flexible cutting and sorting systems, to sawmills. In 1992, he founded a second plant in Wernigerode, Saxony-Anhalt, and gradually expanded the product range.
Ernst Kallfass has withdrawn from day-to-day operations for some time now and is focused on the company's strategic direction. Over the past 50 years, Ernst Kallfass has brought his company to the international stage through hard work, innovative development, and market expertise.
